From the earliest day of education 'making things'  has drivien inclusion, the arts and crafts have been a catalyst of educating the young. As has horticulture, mechanics and  building, Particularly those with engagement difficulties the making  crafts and art all have the capacity to radically alter behaviours and increase focus and inclusion. They also contain in them pure essentail skills. Not abstract but direct and visceral. Embodied learning make young skilled  people who can contribute to and be a part of  community.
